Alphasoars Checkpoint: Sooner or Later? Till Then?

As one gets out of the teenage years going into the twenties, he/she tends to focus mainly on two things, making money and making a family.

So here we are! Today on our Checkpoint section, completing our series I will be talking about marriage, finding your SO. You are wondering at the post heading. Let me explain ( I think I owe that for proper understanding). By sooner or later, I mean does it keep bubbling in your heart each time you sleep or rise up. Do you think of getting into it Now or Later, maybe six, eight or ten years ahead. The follow up, Till Then? am asking you, does it not bother you at the moment, maybe because of your commitments somewhere or because you are not up to the age. So, you will want to fix yourself in one of the categories and let’s soar together. I think this post is getting singlelish in nature (emphasis on the singlelish) but in any case all the Alphasoars in the house that have married have one thing or the other to contribute to the discussion. Your advice or suggestion using the comment box will helps those that are still single.

Commenting on your Favourite posts on your Favourite blogs

This post is coming out of my own little indoor research. I get to understand that commenting on blogs that you read using google profile could be annoying at times.

This happens when you finish typing your epistle to publish on the comment section, the whole epistle gets swallowed up and you feel, 'i don't have the strength to type again', and you are like, 'i love ya post' just because you can't consider yourself typing the whole epistle again.

Alphasoars Checkpoint: 'Mickey would like it even better . . .'

On today's post I will be talking about friendship. Mickey would like it even better . . .' is an except of a story that is told about a group of friends who were dear to each that when one of them died, they were aware of what what he would have loved if he was still alive. Let's read the story below. The story is told by Henry Penn, a florist.
One day two boys and a girl of about ten years of age approached his (Henry Penn) store. They wore ragged clothes, but had clean hands and faces. The boys took off their cap when they entered the shop. One of them came forward and solemnly said, "we're the committee and we'd like some very nice yellow flowers". Penn showed them some inexpensive spring flowers, but the boy said, "i think we'd like somthing better than that". "Do they have to be yellow", Penn asked. "yes Sir" was the reply, "Mickey would like it even better if they were yellow because he had a yellow sweater". "Are these for a funeral?" the florist asked quietly. The boy nodded. The girl then turned to keep back the tears. "She's his sister", the boy explained, "He was a good kid - a truck - yesterday - he was playing in the street, we saw it happen".

Impeccable timing Your Majesty!!!

Today's post is my own little way of saying Happy New (I hope late entry would be accepted) Month, Merry Christmas and New Year in advance. I know i have not made a post like this since the inception of this blog.
The statement on the post header was made by zazzu after he was swallowed by scar and the king appears been the brother to scar and the statement made by the king was "Scar, drop him!". And the one swallowed, zazzu made that statement 'impaccable timing your majesty' as scar quickly drops him. it is a cartoon movie with title LION KING, i know must of us have watched that cartoon presentation like me. That cartoon is one i will call an addict for me, always watching it.
With this am just saying to you that before the end of the year, God will not be late in coming to meet you and drop those handful of blessings which he has preserved for you since the beginning of the year. He will not be late in coming to your rescue.

Understanding the Possibilities of Working with your sub-conscious mind

Hy Alphasoars, I hope you guys enjoyed the previous posts on our Checkpoint sections. More two posts are coming up on that section soonest. Today i will be talking about something else but significant in our everyday pursuit as we soar high.
Have you wondered why two are always better than one? Have taken a careful look at the importance of working with your inner man? We always want to have success in our everyday lives as we soar high but most of the times we neglect the second person that resides in us. The second person am talking about is the sub-concious mind. The place where all the thoughts that make up the man are processed. As you seek to attain greater heights in life there is need to work in partnership with the sub-concious mind. We must let him understand what and where we are going to. How do you do that?

Alphasoars Checkpoint: Be Smart! Don't Start!!!

How Smart are you when you tackle some issues. You feel like ‘men, am a genius’. Then sit back and let’s discuss on what makes you smarter, a more ‘guru like’ if you standout. It’s all about drugs. Most young people these days are prone to taking or experimenting with drugs. And many reasons are been seen as catalysts for these involvements.

Depression. You see, there are lots of reasons out there but I see this as the most prominent and pronounced reason for experimenting of drugs by young minds. 

There are certain levels of depression that are acceptable to the young people but when it gets to long term depression which may arise due to certain issues such as, one being confused on certain issues, some one on a cross roads and stretching out hands longing for help and the help is not reachable or many an individual who has been jilted by someone dear, say close friends, associates or lover. When this happens, the overboard lyrics that quickly registers as that of depression that does not have a coordinated tone is ‘look for a stimulant’, ‘take some beer to get high’, ‘no reason to struggle’, ‘it will make you feel better’.

Yessssss, and to day Alphasoars Blog is one year old. (looking at the milkish teeth and touching it). yeah, like seriously?
November 29 witnessed my first post on blogosphere. Though i came newly to this village, i have seen quite a number of things around, met a few number of persons, got inspired by some great minds. Yes i made it, NO, you did it, yes you reading all my posts. I wanna appreciate you guys very wonderflously because if not because of YOU, i for don stop this blogging thing teyyyy teeyyyy. No be now. I will be wondering, why will i write and there is nobody out there to read, men its a lot of crazyness. But despite my inadequacies and some blunders i make here you still come around to read all my posts. Bless you...*Pastor mode.

and few colleagues in this village that inspire me. Duru is one. I met him recently and his team of confused minds somewhere in this village figuring out where they come from and where they are going especially as it concerns our daily EMOTIONS and ASPIRATIONS.
Yeah, before i forget, i gat a story about the name Duru. yeah, the first time  i landed on YnC, i looked back (literally). why? because i couldn't forget so soon what ma mama did to me when i was a kid 'cause of Mr. Duru in my village. Listening? for the story? Don't worry i'll tell you that story, God willing.

Alphasoars Checkpoint: Haven’t Times Changed???

On Alphasoars Checkpoint today and also subsequent other post on our Checkpoint section, I will be discussing salient issues that tends to becloud the mind of youths. The series are going to cover some predominant issues in our lives as youths ranging from sexual affairs, drugs, friendship and marriage.

These series of discussions are largely going to be based on a book I read some three years ago and I just picked it up to go through it again and it just clicked into my head that I should share stuffs with you guys. The book is titled Straight Talk To Youth (Breakin’ Out) and authored by a renowned Australian speaker, Bill Newman. The book is readily available at most prominent libraries or Christian bookshops around. So I urge you to grab a copy and find out all you need to know as a young person.

 

I know most of us Alphasoars at a point in time in our lives have asked this question on certain occasions over and over again, Haven’t Times Changed? Today’s discussion will be based on premarital sex, so grab a cushion, a chilled ice cream and ‘chillax’ and lets discuss.

Premarital sexual relationship is that relationship which exists between two people of opposite gender, who have not publicly taken the marriage vows which is associated with sexual affairs. We see this relationship around us at every corner of the street. Now I know the question that might be going through your head, ‘why discussing this?’, ‘Any special thing in it?’, ‘Anything wrong with it?’. In the past decades, it will be an abominable act to see two young people cuddling on the street. Not even only cuddling, but I have witnessed what is been done to ladies on trousers. They are been regarded as those who are not part of the society and most time stuffs are been thrown at them while kids take the pleasure to sing some annoying lyrics at their backs. Haven’t times changed? And strictly on my opinion I want to say ‘No’.

Its been a while a last shared a literary creation, a poem. And now, i am bringing this forward to us. Please, understand the tone.

Why do we slumber
failing to take our place in the number?
Is it because of hunger,
that we refuse to ponder?
Failing to mine on the resources of the nation
with regretful illusions?
Why do our youths roams,
'cause of the emptiness of the home?
Why do youths fail to pursue education,
'cause of the good economy of the nation?
Why do youths play politics in education,
Is it because of the 'pay' in persuasion?
O, how i hate these characters with passion,
Loving them with face of confusion.
The Nigerian youth have failed to obey!!!
What have we failed to obey?
The voice of the leader,
that calls us through our basic reader.
The voice of the wise,
that directs us in paying the price.
The voice of our elders,
that denies us the feeling of the weather.
The voice of our instructors,
that beckons on us like the conductors.
The voice of our mothers,
that pleads until we surrenders.
The voice of the our fathers,
that pushes us away, into the ladder.
The Voice of our national leaders,
that encourages us to become the future leaders.
Oh, Nigerian Youth why waste
when we can, with haste
observe what we paste
on our future as we reach out to the peak.
Why have we put our sight on shadows,

that leads us like fooled mules?

who we might follow to get to that spot?
Oh, Nigerian Youth!
I call you to surrender,
lay down your wills and forget the slander.
I call you to run as the race intensify,
shake off your shackles and mortify,
that which makes you not to qualify,
and we at the end of the day, will magnify,
HIM and those that have granted us,
the access to the APEX!!!

My post headline is a statement that is been quoted in many areas of the world, thus; I came, I saw and I conquered. The statement was made by Julius Caesar in the year 47 BC after conquering Britain in one of his campaign with Pharnaces II of Pontus in the city of Zela.

For some good number of my subsequent, I will be talking about the world’s most respected achievers who made this statement, maybe not literally but they conquered their environment. You will as well get to know their achievement pattern and see if it will work for you too.

Let’s begin.

Henry Ford, Henry Ford was born on July the 30^th in the year 1863 in Greenfield Township, Michigan, United States of America and died April 7^th, 1947 at the age of 83 years. He was married to Clara Jane Bryant.

Ford was an industrialist. He came to this planet earth and he saw many disorganized chips, iron ores, steels and rubbers completely separated from each other. Then he conquered their diversities and differences and brought these materials together to develop the first automobile.

THE STOICS

The stoics, almost opposite to the epicureans are people who seem indifferent or unaffected by joy, grief, pleasure or pain. This theory was first put forward by Zeno of Citium in earlier 3^rd century BC.

The stoics teach the development of self control and fortitude as means of overcoming unpleasant events or destructive emotions. The teachings of the group is solely based on developing ethics that counter the present circumstance of an individual

As I earlier wrote on the epicureans, there are people who are readily embracing this theory on daily basis directly or indirectly through their lifestyle.

There are people who live an indifferent kind of life, not been moved by the present circumstance of things.

You can imagine someone just put to birth and many people are happy, rejoicing and putting up things for celebrations but the stoic will be somewhere watching, FEELING NORMAL. The case is manifested by this group of persons on various occasions, even in bereavement. You can do the research on your own and find out that where there is a burial ceremony going, someone there will just feel normal without being moved for whatsoever reason. Not all though, but majority.

Where do you stand?

The bitter sweetness of egg plant

 

On some of my previous posts, I have examined some life giving fruits such as banana, guava, where I made you to understand their nutritional values and their help to body building. On today’s topic, I will be exposing to you some hidden benefits we could derive from the eggplant that we see all around, enjoy.

The egg plants are member of the nightshade family of plants popularly known by their scientific name of aubergines. As vegetable they serve for nutritional benefits as they are rich in good amount of magnesium, copper, niacin, fibre, manganese and vitamins.

Egg plants are vegetables with low calories, helpful for those who want to lose some weight and can be added to food source due to its low calorie content. A breakdown of nutritional content of eggplant shows the following; water 75.8g, carbohydrate 4.7g, protein 0.8g, niacin 0.5g, vitamin B6 0.1, vitamin c 1.8g, calcium 7.4g, potassium 189g, sodium 1.6g, magnesium 11.5g, manganese 0.2, total fat 0.2g, dietary fibre 2.8g, vitamin k 2.8mcg and folate 18mcg.

Its benefits to the human body could be seen as underlisted;

THE EPICUREANS

There are people who follow the teaching of ancient philosopher with name Epicurus. The teaching is mainly centered on Pleasure. Epicurus stood on this theory between the years 307BC and was also an atomic materialist.

This philosophy is anchored on two facts (1) obtaining pleasure through freedom from fear and (2) absence of bodily pain. This is mainly based on attaining a state of the mind termed PLEASURE.

Although the man Epicurus seems not to exist this day as a person, but there are many who are directly or indirectly embracing the teachings of Epicurus by their intermittent or continuous lifestyle of ‘enjoyment’.

What I think-

Through science, the act of pleasure seeking seems to be the driving force towards every applied knowledge to get a product for man’s use. Despite this fact I still maintain that freedom from fear and bodily pain remains elusive for individuals who are always on the verge of eating themselves out on every income they get. This to me is on the basis that the epicureans’ kind of lifestyle leads to unwanted ends.

Firstly, it leads to a life full of frustration. This could be seen where one spends all he’s got to satisfy his pleasures and at the end of the day ends up at the level where he started.

Another result of this kind of lifestyle is that, the individual is bound to fall victim of misfortune unprepared and finally, they (the epicureans) tend to let opportunities pass them by in order to avoid stressing their bodies.
